Favorite Family Recipes

Here's a list of our family's tried-and-true recipes. Many of these delicious recipes have been handed down through the generations. We've organized our recipe file and posted it here to keep the memory of those great Taffet family cooks alive! Try these great dishes and check back regularly for more superb family recipes. Greg's Favorite Barbecue Sauce

4 cloves of garlic

3/4 inch piece of ginger, peeled and minced

1/4 cup cider vinegar

1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce

1/3 cup black "chinkiang" vinegar

1/3 cup vegetable oil

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce

1/4 cup mustard

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 tablespoon chile powder

1 teaspoon salt

pepper to taste

Make the sauce at least one day ahead of time and let it sit and the flavors meld together.

Serve on any barbecued meat but it is especially good on ribs.

Dorothy's Favorite Dog Biscuit Recipe

"Scrumptious Scottie Scones"

I got this recipe because I was going to take care of a dog at my house. This recipe is a special way to spoil your dog.

2 cups white flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 tablespoon honey

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 egg

1/2 cup milk

a dash of cinnamon

(If the dogs breath is bad add a shake of parsley. It makes their breath smell better!!)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder and honey in a bowl. Add oil, egg, milk, cinnamon, and parsley if needed. Mix thoroughly. If the is soggy add more flour. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll out to a 1/2 inch thick, use a ruler to cut the dough into little squares. Bake for 15 minutes then let them cool and store in a air tight container.
